At Durable, we use the RETHINK sustainability concept as the foundation in our commitment to waste reduction, energy conservation, and overall fostering a more sustainable future. These four principles of REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE, serve as clear guidelines that form the basis for sustainable development in all branches of our company.

REFUSE

Packaging materials play a crucial role in our distribution process. We are currently reassessing the use of single-use materials, particularly those found in disposable packaging, with the goal of minimizing our reliance on them. In addition, we consistently explore and search for sustainable alternatives to these materials. By doing so, we aim to significantly decrease the volume of plastic waste generated annually.

REDUCE

In our production facilities, we employ energy-efficient technologies and prioritize waste reduction through diligent sorting and recycling practices.

We consistently sort our waste and safely reintegrate it into the production cycle. As a result, our recycling rate exceeds 80%, while our waste rate remains below 20%.

At DURABLE, we are proud to harness the power of renewable energy to drive our sustainability efforts. With over 134,550 square feet of solar panels installed, we currently generate 10% of the energy required to power our production facilities. These solar panels serve as a testament to our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, resource waste, and reliance on non-renewable energy sources. Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans to expand our solar energy capacity even further, reinforcing our dedication to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

REUSE

Our commitment to sustainability can be seen in every aspect of our operations. Even at the very start when we come up with a product idea, our designs, materials, and production processes must foster long-term usage and support a circular economy. From the initial stages of concept development to the final manufacturing process, DURABLE prioritizes sustainability at every step.

Our products are meticulously crafted with durability and longevity in mind, ensuring that consumers won't have to replace them often, if ever. By investing in high-quality materials and prioritizing efficient production methods, we not only reduce environmental impact but also contribute to a sustainable future for all.

In addition to durability, we strive to give our products additional uses so that they can be reused for different purposes. Many of the products we offer have versatile applications beyond the office environment. For instance, our signage solutions are suitable for hotels and other various industry settings, our desk organization products can be utilized on an individual and company basis in various settings, and our name tags and badges find applications in hospitals and other industries. We believe in maximizing the utility of our products to minimize waste and promote sustainability across different sectors.

RECYCLE

At DURABLE, our commitment to recycling is unwavering. We have implemented a closed-loop process, where reusable plastic waste is safely reintegrated into our production cycle wherever and whenever it's possible. Our waste management system ensures that materials including plastics, glass, metals, and more, are sorted and recycled properly and efficiently. With a recycling rate exceeding 80%, we are steadfast in our commitment to enhancing recyclability throughout our product line. Continual efforts are dedicated to introducing innovative recyclable materials and finding new ways to integrate recycled content into our products. By embracing these initiatives, we are not only reducing waste but also actively contributing to a more sustainable future for our planet.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

At DURABLE, our commitment to sustainability extends far beyond our internal operations. We actively seek partnerships with external organizations to fulfill our role in creating a sustainable environment. We have partnered with logistics company, GLS, to ensure all shipments from our distribution centers are carbon-neutral. CO2 emissions are one of the main contributions to climate change, so to further make a change, DURABLE has sponsored multiple reforestation projects as well.

We further our nature conservation efforts in other initiatives. Most notably, our DURA Bees initiative. This innovative project involves housing, maintaining, and harvesting over 120,000 bees in meadows planted right outside our site in Gotha, Germany. Fully funded and maintained by DURABLE, DURAbee embodies our dedication to supporting a healthy ecosystem. Martina Heiland, spokesperson for DURAbee, emphasized our commitment, stating, "To us, it is important to help maintain a healthy ecosystem. That is why we decided to give our bees a home that is as natural and safe as possible."
